Career History

In addition to being an ExCo mentor, Levine has continued his storied career with DLA Piper, currently serving as Chief Strategic Innovation Partner. Levine created DLA Piper’s Law& brand, focusing on disruptive legal, technology, and business solutions. As former Global Co-CEO and International Managing Partner and in other leadership roles, Simon reset DLA Piper’s strategy, culture and values, led its innovation agenda, and shaped its approach to both diversity and inclusion and sustainability and ESG. His tenure was marked by significant enhancements in the firm’s reputation, brand, and profitability.

His wide-ranging expertise encompasses copyright and related rights, advertising and sponsorship, design rights, trademark rights, passing off, breach of confidence and patents. He has advised high-profile individuals, leading corporations and organizations across various industries, particularly media, sport and technology. His cases have often set legal precedents and garnered media attention.

Personal

Levine holds a BA and MA in Law from the University of Cambridge. He is passionate about education and teaches Intellectual Property and Business at Imperial College Business School in London, where he was granted a professorship in 2015. Levine serves as a Non-Executive Board member for the UK Office for Students, chairing its Quality Assessment Committee. He is also a member of advisory boards for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, City UK, and the International Development Business Exchange. He currently resides in the United Kingdom.
