Overview
Mark Templeton is a board member and former CEO who has extensive leadership experience in the technology industry and a strong track record of leadership development. Templeton has had a successful career as a NASDAQ 100 Chief Executive Officer and as a director on private, NASDAQ, and NYSE boards of directors. Templeton currently serves as Chairman of Workspot Inc., an innovator in multi-cloud SaaS solutions. He also serves on the boards of Reltio, Corellium, and LucidLink.
Career History
Templeton’s former board and governance experience include serving as a board member for Citrix Systems Inc.; on the compensation, audit and technology committees at Equifax, as Board Chair; on the compensation committee at Adaptive Insights; and on the compensation committee at Keysight Technologies.
Templeton previously served as Chief Executive Officer of DigitalOcean, a provider of a simple-to-consume cloud infrastructure, serving a community of 3.5 million developers, nimble teams, and digital-first businesses. As CEO, Templeton helped to clarify the organization’s purpose, strategy, and developer-focus, while recruiting his successor to continue growth and value creation. In March 2021, DigitalOcean filed its S-1 to trade as a public company.
Prior to this role, Templeton served as President and CEO of Citrix Systems, Inc. During his 20+ years with Citrix, Templeton transformed the business from a $15 million organization with one product, one customer segment, and one go-to-market path, to a global software firm with annual revenues over $3 billion and 100 million users worldwide. He also led the vision for a software-defined Virtual Workplace, where desktop virtualization, boundless collaboration, device independence and zero trust security were united to enable work-from-anywhere solutions. Templeton joined Citrix as Vice President of Marketing, six months prior to the company’s initial public offering.
Personal
Templeton received his B.A. in Industrial and Product Design from North Carolina State University and holds his MBA from University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He also holds an Honorary Degree of Doctorate in Business Administration and General Management from Nova Southeastern University, as well as an Honorary Degree of Doctorate in Business Administration from University of South Carolina Aiken. Templeton currently resides in Gulf Stream, Florida.
