Overview
Dame Moya Greene is an accomplished board member and former CEO with over 30 years’ experience as a private and public sector leader. Greene has successfully led through turnarounds and organizational transformations, and is renowned for having revitalized one of the UK’s notable national institutions. A global leader, Greene is a dual citizen of Canada and Great Britain, and is bilingual in English and French.
Career History
Among her many achievements, Greene was awarded the title of Dame of the British Empire and was also the recipient of the Financial Times’ Person of the Year Award. In addition, she was ranked as one of the Fortune 500’s most powerful EMEA female CEOs.
Greene currently serves on the Advisory Council of Said (Oxford University) and on the Advisory Council of One Million Mentors. She previously served as Chair of the Newfoundland & Labrador Economic Recovery Panel, and has also served on the boards of EasyJet, Tate, Rio Tinto, Royal Mail, GLS, and Tim Hortons, among others.
In her most recent executive role, Greene served as the first female and non-Briton CEO of Royal Mail Group (FTSE 100), the largest parcels delivery company in the U.K. In this role, she led through a massive operational modernization for the organization, including a financial turnaround and a technology rebuild. Additionally, she oversaw the organization’s full privatization, drove a commercial regulatory framework, and built vital relationships with the unions to ensure the organization’s success. Under her leadership, Royal Mail was ranked number one twice in the international Dow Jones Sustainability Index as best corporate citizen in the global transportation and logistics sector.
Previously, Greene was President and CEO of Canada Post Corporation, the sixth-largest employer in Canada. During her tenure, Greene doubled profits and drove a major modernization program, leading the organization to rank among the top 100 employers in Canada.
Greene has also served in various operational leadership roles, including Senior Vice President – Operational Effectiveness at Bombardier, Inc., Senior Vice President/Chief Administration Officer – Retail Products at CIBC, and Managing Director – Infrastructure Finance and Public Private Partnerships at TD Securities.
Personal
She holds a Bachelor’s in Classics from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and an LL.B., from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. In her spare time, Greene enjoys taking walks, cooking for family and friends, and reading. She currently resides in South East England.
